When to apply for H4 visa for dependents?

My petition is selected in H1B lottery. Please let me know the procedure to apply for H4 visa for dependenta (wife & child)? My elpoyer has filed for my H1B only. Is it required to file H4 visa at the same time?

If your family is outside the US, there is nothing to file. Once your H-1B is approved they can apply for the H-4 visas at the consulate.
