I got a mail from my employer that "This is to inform that the H1B Petition has been filed with the USCIS."And also I’m asked to check my status on USCIS site.But the application receipt number is not given in the mail,as it is against the policy.So,I dont know it.So,What does it mean actually?Does it mean I’m selected in the lottery or this is any initial stage notification before the lottery is being held?
Thanks in advance.Ask your employer how to check your status on USCIS site without receipt number. i believe most of the employer provides receipt number so that he/she can check his status online. if you get receipt number means you got selected in the loterry.
thanks for ur reply…Actually i got that mail on April end…which happens to be very early in our scenario to have something like this…so i’m just wondering is it the mail regarding the lottery result or is it just a previous stage (before lottery) notification mail i got lately?is there any stage like filing before lottery and do they send a mail for that?
