My I-94 (L1 visa) expired on 08-July and extension petition was applied sometime in May. L1 extension was moved to RFE state and employer responded to it on 02-Sep. Meanwhile H1B Change of status was approved on 10-Jun with start date 01-Oct. I received confirmation from my employer stating that starting 01-oct I’m on H1 status. My question is, if my L1-extension is denied by USCIS now (say 02-Oct), will my H1B change of status be valid? Do I need to travel to my home country for consular processing after denial of extension? Satheesh
