Travel to India on H4 once H1B petition is approved

I am on H4 visa and applied for H1b this year.

I am planning to go to India after the petition is approved.

Assuming I get my Visa, Can I travel to India on H4 and come back on H4. (probable dates to go is in mid august to 1st week of September. Return back to US before October ) 

I have to get my stamping done for H4 as The current H4 on the passport is expired and new one is extended till 2016.

Will I face any issues during stamping ? Should I be doing H4 or H1B stamping ?

If I do H4stamping Will my H1b remain the same and automatically be activated in October ?

U can come on H4… Not a Problem…

U can even go for H1 stamping, if u have project immediately after u come US, then go for H1… Else come on H4…

H4 to H1 is not automatically done, COS must have been filed… Else U must go out of country to get stamped

Assuming COS was filed along with the H1B application itself and I travel only after the petition is approved. And I reenter the country with H4 in August. Do I still need to file for COS again ?

AFAIK, U must be in US while COS Approval… if not, U may need to file it again I think… Talk to ur attorney on this…
