Travel out of USA in OPT Ext - before H1 effective. safe/Risky?

Hello All,

Need help immediately,

My question is regarding travel to home country - India for a personal visit ( Marriage) during OPT Extension & H1B approved if picked in Lottery.

Currently I am on 12 - Month OPT - expiring in May 2014, I have applied for OPT Extension a week back and USCIS has received it.

Also my employer (Not consultancy - Full Time position as RF Engineer at California) has applied for my H1B  for the upcoming 2014 April Lottery.

I am getting married in the first week of September and I am planning to go to India on the 15th of August (Status: I Will be on OPT Extension & H1B approved, if picked in Lottery).

Go for stamping with my wife on September 22nd for (H1 & H4) and then return back on September 28th or October 3rd.

Please let me know whether the plan is safe or will there be any issues at stamping or at POE? Should I tell my employer to apply for my H1B next year ie. April 2015.

Should I leave US only after my H1B comes into effect ie. October 1st or can I travel before it. I understand that H1B stamping is must to re-enter.

Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated, as I am running short of time to inform my employer about the plan and also the marriage preparations have almost been completed at both our family side.

Its safe and no problem unless U, Ur employer and all docs are in place

Thank you very much for your reply. I posted this question long back and was busy with work. Didn’t even check back, nice & bit relived to see your precise & simple reply.

My H1 was picked and got approved. Pretty lucky as everything happened very quickly. I got my approval notice on May 16th.
