I have a couple of questions regarding travel during H1B cap gap. I am on my OPT currently which ends on Aug 28th 2012. My H1B was applied on April 2nd 2012 and it was approved on April 13th 2012. My start date on my H1B petition is Oct 1 2012. I will have to travel to India during my cap gap on 2nd Sept 2012 for a week for family reasons .
My questions are:
Can I travel outside the US during my H1B cap gap with an approved H1B petition? IF yes, can I return around 10th Sept 2012 OR should I wait till after Oct 1 2012 to be able to return without issues?
