I got my H1B visa in the 2015 lottery. My visa is valid till 2017, I however do not have H1B stamping on passport and was planning to do that in the India trip. My amendment was filed in December 2015 under premium processing. I received an RFE and my employer has responded to RFE and sent back Jan 1st week. Should the RFE not be approved in the next week can I still travel to India in February 2016?
As it is PP, the response should get adjudicated within 15 calendar days.
As you have to get H-1B visa stamped, my advice would be to wait for approval and then leave US. If your amendment is denied, your stamping may run into issues as you will not be allowed to work at current location.
