Hi,

I came to US on L2 dependent visa without a work permit from Jun 2010 till Dec 2010. I started working on work permit from Dec 2010 and then moved to H1B in Oct 2012.

When do the six years of my H1B visa end ?I want to start GC processing but there is a delay at my employer’s end. When should I start my GC process to safely continue my stay in US after H1B expires?Thanks

  1. 6 years will be counted including your work period on L2. It expires Dec 2016 (If you have your i140 approved/GC Pending, then H1 can be extended beyond 6 yrs)
