Switching between H1 to F1 is it possible?

my OPT EAD expires in July 2020, at present my h1 is picked and it is under phase 2 premium processing. In case if my h1 is approved only for 6 months starting Oct 19 to March 20 and I don’t get any further extension after 6 months expires, can I still get back to my OPT EAD which is still valid 4 months and reapply for h1 in the last attempt.

To use OPT, you need be on F1 visa. Your DSO may or may not authorize it. You cannot switch back from H1B to F1 just for the sake of OPT, does not work like that. Better thing is to file h1B extension and continue to work past that date.
