Status changed from refused to administrative processing

Hi everyone,

I applied for O1 visa in March. The VO refused my case under administrative processing 221g. Passport returned and no additional documents required. He told me, “we keep in touch”. On CEAC the status was shown as “refused”. 50 days later it was changed to “administrative processing”.

What does this change mean?

This means they are working on verifying all the information you provided in DS-160 and supporting documents. If the visa is approved, the consulate will request your passport for stamping.

There is so set time for administrative processing 221g. It can take weeks or months. Generally 4-8 weeks.
