Spouse Passport Changes for H4 dependant visa

Is it required to have Spouse Name added in the passport if my wife is supposed to travel with me as dependant?

Also is it that both should have spouse name added in each other’s passport?

Also is it required to change wife surname in passport and also her address after marriage?

None of these are mandatory. The officer needs to confirm that you guys are really married and it can shown through combination of various documents like:

  • names mentioned in each others’ passports

  • marriage certificate

  • wedding card/album
