Situation of staying back with employer A when H1-B transfer by employer B is in progress

Hello friends,

I am currently working for employer A. I got offer from employer B and H1-B transfer is initiated in regular processing 2 weeks ago and got the receipt number. Employer A gave an offer for me to stay back and I wanted to continue with them. What should I be asking employer B - To withdraw H1-B transfer petition?. How long is the aproximate duration for withdrawal?. Is there any risk here?. Will this have any impact on H1-B transfers in the future?. I assume that employer B will be asking to refund the H1-B transfer costs. Is that the usual case given that employee is demanding withdrawal?. Please advise.

Looks like you’ve involved Employer B just so you can better your current offer. So he’ll have every reason to be annoyed having spent money on your H1 transfer. Better to talk to them and inform them while it isn’t too late. If they withdraw now they are likely to get some refund.

This won’t have any impact on future H1B transfers, but you would’ve burnt all bridges with Employer B.
