Serve 3 month notice period or pay $10000 fine.Is it legally valid in US?

Hi Guys,

I am currently working in US for Indian MNC. I now want to switch to some other employer, however current employer offer letter has conditions like I will have to serve 3 months notice period or pay $10000 in case i switch.If i don’t pay then they will engage services of a collection agency .

I wanted to know if such conditions are legally valid here in US?
