Second Masters Degree? Recommended?

Hi…

I have completed my M.Tech in India, and am planning for an MS again due to lack of good jobs here.
I have received an admit too, but I’m being suggested to get a Ph.D rather than an MS, coz it makes sense in general, and also the fact that my visa interview wont be favourable for a 2nd masters.

However, I want to do an MS only. Not a Ph.D. It’s not because I don’t like doing research (I have published my own research papers) but the fact that, I want to start earning soon. Also, I’m not at all interested in MBA.

The track I’m choosing is off somehow, I know that much. What I need to know is, is it that bad to do a second masters? The field is slightly different too. What are the advantages of going and getting this masters, coz I’m completely ready to go and backing off would be a major setback now.

Interesting…You should read this article : Should I do MS in USA with H1B lottery . Getting MS in US will NOT guarantee you Job ! Main thing to note is that your work permit in USA is subject to lottery !

In my view, your goal for higher education should be driven by passion. If you are just planning for second masters to enter and work in USA, thats probably is not the best way to look at it.  Take time and think about it ! You should also read these articles :
