Remote work on H1b for 3-4 months

Hello All,

I am planning to travel India in 2 months. This is my first H1b and I am working on EVC model.

Due to personal reasons, I am looking to stay 3-4 months in India and work from there. My Client has approved my remote work request considering the situation.

Do we have any legal limit for staying out of USA on H1b? Will the length of stay effect on port of entry or any other way? Has anybody gone through same situation. Please let me know If anyone knows anything.

When outside the country , you don’t have to maintain status and hence doesn’t have to do anything w.r.t maintaining the status . But since you are employed and paid maintain the payslips ,any other proof that you are still employed.

You could stay out of country as long as it works you, ensure to have a valid visa and employment when returning back to the U.S.
