regarding visitor visa for my parents

Hi,

I am on dependent visa currently in USA and my husband is sponsoring B2 visa for my parents. We have booked visa interview appointment for them. Problem is that my father and my mother have slightly different surnames (2 letters changing)in their respective passports. We have filled up their individual DS160s as per their respective surnames on own passport. Will these different surnames cause any issue during an interview? Also will VO ask for parents marriage certificate in this case? If yes, will affidivat for marriage certificate work as they dont have marriage certificate.

It should not be a problem. It is always good to enter the passport name exactly in DS160, otherwise they would be flagged in finger printing center itself. The surname should not cause any issue. All they will look for is strong relations back home for them to return back, intent of travel and finance, as to who is sponsoring the trip.
