I got my H1B approved. I am from H4 to H1B. Last week when I went to appy from SSN on Oct 1st the officer said that my visa status in their system has not been updated to H1 it is still on H4. So, how could would it take to get my SSN. Is there any way that I could track my Visa status. Please help me with this.

There is something wrong with the information. They must accept your approval notice as evidence. Please try a different office and just take your passport, approval notice and filled SSN request form. Don’t explain too much, just submit these documents together and wait for them to talk.
