Re-apply for visa after F2 denial

Hi,
I am currently working on STEM-OPT. I have been working for 3 years as full time employee for the same company. My STEM-OPT expires in 8 months. Recently my wife attended visa interview for F2 and it was denied. They gave her 214(B). The interviewer asked a weird question after my wife said that I am on OPT. See below.

Officer: Does your husband have a job ready in India?
Spouse: He is applying for the jobs. He will easily get the job here as his profile has high demand.

They said that they can’t issue the Visa after few minutes of wait.
We are thinking to re-apply in a week. Can some one please suggest what can we answer for the ‘reason for the denial first time’ ? And Is visiting visa better than F2?
I appreciate any help on this.

Well, F2 visa stamping at this point is always tricky. There is no right or wrong answer. You can give it another try. One of our user shared that they got it after 6th attempt… You could consider Visitor visa, as it is short term…again, there is no right or wrong answer for the question they asked…214(b) is immigrant intent and we don’t know what they really look.

Thanks kumar for the response. Any idea what could be good reason to fill in ‘explain why it was rejected first time in DS160 form’?
