I had my H1B visa interview today, counselor asked me few questions and took my passport. They didn’t confirm the status(approved or anything else). Just ended the conversation, saying ‘Thanks’.
They don’t even asked me to submit any documents. Does that mean my Visa is approved ? Please help.
If the Officer has kept your passport means your visa has been approved. They keep the passport for putting the actual visa stamp.
And asking for documents or not, depends entirely on the visa officer. In mycase, the officer asked me where I was going in the US and then started telling me stories about that city. No documents asked.
Enjoy my friend :), your stamped passport should come to you in a few days.
Thanks for your response.
I checked my application status on ceacc website and it is mentioned as it is under administration process. What does that mean? Thanks in advance for your help.
Hmm, Admin Processing is a case where USCIS is doing further more research in your particular case. Most commonly it is either when USCIS wants some extra documents or when USCIS is not fully sure about your employer.
And from what I’ve heard - Admin processing doesn’t really have a set timeline in which it will get resolved. So at this point, you can contact your company attorney to understand what is required.
Thanks for your response.
It’s only approx. 24hrs ago, I have been interviewed, so is it that they will update the status in sometime or it is like if they approve the visa then they update immediately?
