Planning to apply H1B and pregnant

Hi,

I am on H4 visa in US and has found a H1B sponsor.

But, due to pregnancy (expecting in July, 2014), I can't start working on october 1st 2014. I need few more months leave.

Now I would like to know what are the possible solutions in my case

1.Am I allowed to take leave without pay for 3-6 months? In that case my employer can cancel my H1B visa?

2.Is there any chance to apply H1B with future start date?

3.If I cant put a future start date in H1B petition then is there any chance of amendment to have a different work start date?

4.Is it better to change the status back to H4 if my H1B get approved?

5.Is it easy to convert to H4 and then go back to H1B in future?

Please provide me best solution in which process I can apply my H1B and staying in US with legal status is possible.

Talk to employer if H-1 can be filed w/o COS. This way your status will remain H-4 even after Oct 1. Once you have recovered from the delivery and ready to join work, have them file COS from H-4 to H-1 or enter US on stamped H-1 visa.

Hi Saurabh,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. I have one more question, now suppose if my employer is ready to file H1 w/o COS and when I will be ready to start my job that time how much will it cost for change of status from H4 to H1 again any idea?
Thanks

Can you please give me the details of the employer who has sponsored h1b for you.
