Passport expiry for H1B

Hi Experts,

1.My passport will expiry on 25/10/2015.I will get H1b stamped on Novmber 2013.

Is there any issues with the passport expiry.

Can i get stamped in my current passport & after that shall i apply for new passport,is that ok. or shall i can apply in usa.please advice.

If so how can i rectify it.

Please advice.

  1. There is no issue. Typically, they require that you have at least 6 months validity of the passport. Also, if you get your visa stamped in current old passport and it expires, then there is no need to get visa stamping again as long as the visa is valid in it. You can carry your old passport with valid H1B Visa stamp on it. Read the US Customs Border Protection Info on Passports

    1. Visa stamping depends on various factors and it is hard to guess as it varies by case. As long as your documents are good, your employer is good, you should be good !
