Passport expired -can i apply for h1?

Hello everyone,

I am from Hyderabad and i found an employer to apply for a h1 this year. However my passport already got expired and i applied for a new one yesterday, i was told i will get the new one in 10days, can i still apply my h1 and attach the new passport details to my case incase i am through the lottery

Please help me…

I believe you need to submit a copy of your valid passport, while submitting the petition. You still may be able to apply for the lottery, as USCIS accepts applications until April 5th/6th 2018.
