My H1b is approved for dropbox by my wife is applying for first time. Need help to understand process

Hi everyone,

I have an H1b visa drop box appointment coming in less than 2 weeks. I have had F1 visa and so I am eligible for visa interview waiver. I have applied for my wife’s H4 visa along with me and this would be her first US visa. Her biometrics is not done before and whole booking for visa appointment, I wasn’t shown option to schedule biometrics appointment and I am assuming it is due to my eligibility for VWP.

Has anyone experienced such situation where an H1b visa applicant is eligible for VWP and spouse is applying for the first time along with primary applicant? Could you share your own experience or experience of someone else who you know faced similar situation? How the process worked? Does my wife need to go through biometrics and do we need to schedule separate appointment for that? Any information you can share will help.

You will most probably need to book a separate appointment for your wife.

@Kalpesh_Dalwadi, I tried to ask them and as helpful and resourceful they are, for my three emails they replied scripted same answer and for a phone call I made, they indirectly suggested to risk making my wife’s separate account and check what pops up for her individual appointment meaning I will lose the current booking.
