My husband and I are travelling to US on L1 and L2 visa respectively. My mother-in-law has B1/B2 visa, and would like to stay with us, how much is the maximum stay allowed? Is there a way to extend the stay period as she’s a dependent senior citizen.
She can stay for up to 6 months along with you. You can try, but it is not really recommended to extend beyond 6 months as it raises more questions on the intent of the individual…It is only used in extreme health and hospitalised situations for emergency.
