I have following questions regarding maternity leave and future plan.

My H1B is approved for 3 years from July 2013 to July 2016. However my visa is expired as I have not travelled to India in between.

I am expecting and will go on maternity leave for 6 weeks. My employer is ready to give maternity leave certificate. I will be on H1B during this time. I belong to FL state.

After 6 weeks I will join back and continue for another 2 months. After that I will be travelling to India for 2 months vacation. My employer is ready to give me vacation approval letter. I will go immediately for H1B stamping in India. Leave will be unpaid though.
Could you please confirm in all above scenarios I am maintaining legal status? Do I need to carry any other addtional documents to support maternity + vacation leave? Please give your suggestions in above scenario.
