Is there any compulsory time limit to work with an employer on H1B?

Hi Saurabh,

just wanted to check with you is there any compulsory time limit to work with an employer who filed your new H1B?

Like I am joining my new employer from this Oct-1. I heard that you have to work with new employer at least 3 months. Is it correct? Please let me know if there any?

There is nothing like that.

  1. If you have always been outside US, or change employer prior to Oct 1, then no payslips are required

  2. If you are inside US and it’s post Oct 1, then you need payslips as proof of maintaining H-1 status. You need at most 3 pay slips (if filed after 3 pay periods) or just enough pay slips to cover the time from Oct 1 to H-1 transfer filing date.

Payslips are required to show that you are maintaining legal status. They don’t serve any other purpose.
