is it possible to convert an L2 to L1 visa,

Hi,

    i am applying for a dependent L2 visa with my husband's L1. My employer may apply for my L1 but not sure fully and it could take some time. so i decided to go for L2 as of now.

can i convert L2 to L1 later, can i do this before i enter US.

This is a very rare question. L-1 is a pipeline visa that originates in home country. L2 to L1 conversions are tedious later on US soil. I would suggest staying on an L-2 with EAD.
