Is H1B stamping mandatory for NIE approval?

Hi,

For NIE approval for H1B, is stamping mandatory?

I have applied for the NIE approval in advance to avoid any issue during stamping. But I dont get response so far on the request. Its been 15 days already.

So, not sure, is H1B stamping the first step to get the NIE approval or can we go for the stamping after getting the NIE approval?

Please help if anyone knows.

If you need a visa stamp you will need to carry the NIE approval letter in person and present to VO. If you qualify for dropbox, you need to include the letter with other supporting documents.
