Is Birth certificate mandatory for applying SSN for H1B visa holders

Hi All,

Can somebody please confirm that, is Birth certificate(for 1984 born in India) mandatory for applying SSN, Driving License, GC for the H1B Visa holders

Not for SSN and drivers license but yes for GC.
