I am currently on OPT and I have to travel to india from US in the month of March. Given the lottery dates are March 1 to March 18. I am not sure what would be the impact on my H1B application in case I do travel from March 5 to March 28th. (I can move ahead my travel dates by a week, but not sure what are the actual recommended dates)
You can travel while your H1B petition is being submitted or processed, not an issue. Make sure you get the I-20 with travel authorization from your DSO and carry all required documents including employment verification letter, EAD card, I-20, last three paystubs etc that you may be asked by CBP while entering back to the US. Make sure you have a valid F1 visa to to reenter back.
