Information regarding old H1B Cap number

Hi,

My ex-employer had applied for h1b in 2009 for me and my petition got approved on July 9, 2009. I didn't go for visa stamping because of some reasons. It’s been more than 4 years since the date of approval. My petition was applied by my ex company and other than the receipt number I don’t have any document related to the petition. Can my current company use the same receipt number to apply for cap exempt petition.

 

if not, do my new employer needs to file a new petition for me??

 

Also, I am also trying to understand the difference between Visa validity and petition validity. Can someone throw some light on this??

U can use the old approved petition… Cap-Exemption can be filed for U before 2015… So Hurry Up…

And having Case Number will do… Its enough to file Cap-Exemtion…

Visa validity comes in picture only if Ur visa is stamped… Ur Petition is Exempted for 6 years from Approval
