Im on H1B but no visa stamp , can i visit Mexico and come back?

Hey All , i have my H1 visa approved in 2020 , however not got stamped yet. can i be able to visit mexico for a vacation?

If you did F1 to H1B change of status and have expired F1 visa, you can use AVR to enter back to the US. However note that you will need tourist visa to enter Mexico unless you have a valid US visa.

Thanks @Kalpesh_Dalwadi , so my approved i797 is not good enough for that ? i have my f1 stamp though but it is expired

Good enough for what? Because you dont have a valid visa for US, Mexico requires you get a tourist visa. You can still enter the US usi g your expired F1 visa using automatic visa revalidation (AVR). Thos only works for Mexico and Canada thay share border with the US.
