And as of now i am working in Software company.I dont want ma career in IT field.I want to do M.S in Petroleum Engineering.Only few universities offer those and is it wise choice to opt for that course with Electronics as background and while applying to universities my work experience will not be taken into account?? Please give your suggestions.

Your work expericene may or may not be considered. You would have to do the research and choose the schools that offer Petrolemum Engineering.
