How long I can stay when l1 and i94 is expired and h1b is approved

My l1 visa and i94 are expiring on 24 sept 2014 and I m planning to apply h1b thru a consultancy ( so the h1b would be effective from 1st oct).

My current employer has no plans of l1extension

  1. How long I can stay in USA after the l1and i94 expires and before the h1b is effective? Is there any grace period ?

2.now that I have 6 days out of status from 24 to 30 sept. Should I get cos or consular processing

  1. You cannot stay if I-94 expires 2. Consular processing - you need to get out of US and get it stamped and re-enter.
