How early can i arrive to the US on H1b

Hi All,

My visa is stamped and its valid. DOJ with new employer is around Jan 2023 2nd week. Can i travel to the US around 15th December 2022?

I have a valid i797 start date and visa stamp date prior to 15th Dec 2022

Will i be questioned at port of entry for an early arrival?

If your start date on I-797 is past 10 days at the time you enter, technically it should be okay but if your start date on your offer letter is at a later date, I would not enter more than 10 days in advance to be on safer side.
Consult your employer’s immigration lawyer and follow their advice.

Also, Can I ask my employer to prepone my DOJ if possible.
