H4 Interview if H1 is approved

If h1 is approved, can we straight away go and attend H4 interview for dependents or we need to mention on H1b application at the time petition.
i doubt i’ven’t mention anything on h1b petition that i have dependetns.

Please suggest me. Thanks in advance.
