My H1B extension with my current employer was initiated in August 2019 in Premium and was also approved at the beginning of Sept/2019. After which, my son’s H4 extension was filed. We went for his bio metrics in October/2019 and completed it successfully. But since then, I am not seeing any change in status for his application. On USCIS website, for his case, I still see status as “Case was received”.
Is it normal? Is there something I can do to find out what’s going on with his application?
Further question - If I change my job from my current employer to new employer in mid-2020, again at that time as well does H4 processing will take same amount of time? Can I start with new employer if H4’s processing is still in progress?
Also, if I decide to travel to India in Dec/2020 and my son’s H4 application is still in progress during that time, can I still travel to India with him and then get his H4 visa stamped directly in India even though his case was in process here at USCIS?
