I am going to get married in 2 months time. My fiance has a valid H1B. I thought of applying for DS 160 form for H4 right now so that I can get slots as soon as possible after marriage.
I have a query regarding my marital status - Since at the time of applying for DS 160, I am unmarried, I have mentioned the marital status as “others” with an explanation of my wedding date. I will ensure that the interview is scheduled after my wedding and I have all my documents with me. Is it okay to put as “others”? I also came across posts where people have put the status as “married”. I am not sure about it as it seems like there might be conflict.
You can mention married as you will be married at the time of interview and should be able to carry the supporting documents.
