I’m in India and have been selected in H1B lottery process. I only have the receipt number with me. Can the H1B be transferred to a new employer?
The current status on the USCIS portal is petition approved.
I have no other document except the receipt number.
Kindly share inputs.
USCIS should be fine to accept the receipt number, print out of online status showing it as approved and a letter stating that the employer hasn’t shared the receipt notice. USCIS can gather all the details from their own system using the receipt number.
However, employer and attorney needs to be convinced that the receipt number belongs to you.
