I went to H1B Visa stamping on Jan 21, 2014. I had a DUI in May 2010. So got 221g for completing medical examinaitons.
I have completed medical examinations on 18 Feb 2014 and Panel doctor sent reports to consulate by 20th Feb2014.
Got email from hyderabad consulate to submit Passport for further processing on 21st Feb. Now its 03 March 2014 still no response, when I check the status of my visa still it says Admininistrative Processing.
Does anyone had similar situation if so please let me know how much time it takes for processing after submitting the passport
So sorry to hear this. Driving under the influence (DUI) does not trigger a negative admission ruling unless moral turpitude was involved. This means you have a problem if (1) drugs other than alcohol was also involved (2) you are addicted to alcohol or (3) the primary DUI also involved injury to a person or damage to property. The medical checkup is used to measure liver health and certain blood enzymes to make sure you do not show elevation of alcohol related biomarkers. If all is good, you will get a ‘passport ready for pickup’ message soon. Hope you are being a good kid now :)) and drinking only at home :))

Today on 04 March, 2014 status was changes to “Ready” for brief period and again changed back to “Administrative Processing”. Not sure what’s happening
