H1B VISA Approved for 2012. When can i fly if Job Assignment is there?

Hi There,

Can anyone tell me - when can i fly for my Job Assignment if my H1B-VISA is approved and stamped by July 2012?

I have heard even if you have a Stamped VISA of H1B 2012, you can’t fly before Oct 1st? Is it true?? Can anyone please let me know on this or give proper information?

You can enter US on or after 20th of September 2012, if your work start date is 1st October 2012.

Excerpt from VFS website:



You can apply for an H1B visa up to 90 days in advance beginning of employment status as noted on the form I-797, Notice of Action, however your entry to the US is restricted to 10 days prior to the start date as noted in the Form I-797 unless you are already working on an H1B visa and have applied for a revalidation.
