H1B VISA Application, COS, Travel out of US, Registration?

Hi,

I’m currently on F1visa and I’m in my opt extension. I have a travel plan to India from March13th-28th and I’m filling my H1B. So, is it safe to travel during this period?

If my application gets selected will my status immediately change?

You may travel, but you need valid visa to re-enter. Now, regarding the H1B registration, there is no status info like I-94 submitted with the registration, so you may travel. If you plan to file your application as change of status, you should be back in US before the filing date. Discuss with your attorney or employer and plan your travel. Read
