H1B Stamping Location

Hi,

My petition just got approved and I have recieved my I-797B. Below are my questions - 



1. In I-797B the consulate location is given as Chennai. My current location is Mumbai. Does it mean I have to visit Chennai for stamping?



2. I have two passports as of now. The latest one is a re-issue due to address change. During visa filling my petition for H1B I had  only one passport and submiited the same. During stamping will this create a problem and should I carry/submit both for stamping? Will they look at my old passport at all?

Hi,

  1. There won’t be a problem. You can attend at any consulate.

  2. Not an issue, while submitting DS160 form you apply with the new passport ID. You need to take both the passports during your Visa interview.
