Applied for my H1B visa. I know they picked the 20K first. I am in the regular degree, regular processing… 0ne of the 45K left. Just was curious if anyone with the same type of application has been notified one way or another. As the days go by, I seem to be less hopeful.
It appears that the notification is sent by mail? I thought perhaps it would be sent electronically.

You can only tell that you are not selected in the lottery only when you receive your packet back from USCIS, so wait patiently.
Regular processing will receive notice only through USPS mail. No e-mail will be sent for them.
