H1B refused with 221G green slip

Hi ,

I have attended Visa interview in Kolkata here in India on 6th April and received green slip with no additional documents required . Received mail to submit passport for the completion of the administrative processing of your H1B application on 13 Apr . Submitted passport on 14th APr in Hyderabad VAC but no change in the status and still showing as refused . Its been almost 2 weeks and no update .

Could you please update on how many days I can wait to receive back the passport or should we follow-up with Kolkata embassy as I heared from my frds that it max takes 1 week to receive back the passport . does it mean they are ready to stamp if they ask the passport? what are the chances of getting Visa . Your answer is really appreciate for us .

Administrative processing can take several weeks based on the information/documents consulate is trying to verify so you will need to be patient. Most cases are resolved in 2 to 6 weeks.

Thanks for the update. Is it a positive sign if they request passport after 1 week of the interview?i got from my frds that you will receive passport back in max 15 days if they ask to submit the passport after interview? So i am worrying though nothing much i can do except waiting for the passport
