H1B & H4 extension

I am working in USA on H1B visa, my family is in India with valid H4. Could I apply for my H1B & H4 extension along from USA?
Note - H4 - My dependents are in India.

or

Do I apply my H1B extension first and later they can apply H4 extension from India while my H1B extension under process.

or

Do I apply my H1B extension first and after getting the new petition, then only I should go for H4 extension for my family?

Please suggest ! How it works ?

If your H4 dependent is in India, just apply for your H1 extension. Once your extension is approved, send that approval copy so that your spouse can directly go to the local consulate and get H4 stamped using your H1 extension.
