I am under contract (H1B) with my employer which will expire May 2015. I got married Dec. 31,2013. My wife is a green card holder. She lives and works at Maryland while I work at ND. Will this be a big factor when I apply for adjustment of status? (granting my wife already filed a petition). Thanks.
Looks like you had a New year’s Eve wedding!! Awesome choice of a day and congrats to both of you. There are no concerns here. Of course your wife’s filing for you will undergo an ‘elapsed time watch’ clause, USCIS would like to make sure you are stably married (I guess it is 6 months) to your permanent resident partner and this was not a marriage of convenience or coercion.
