H1B extension

Hi,

I have valid H1B till end of Sep,2014 and will be applying for H1B renewal in this month and currently my wife in US on H4 and My wife h1B application picked in 2015 H1B quota and we applied in regular processing.



do you i need to specify my wife also while i am applying for H1B extension? what will happen to my wife H1B application if i apply my wife h4 extension along with my H1B extension? 



I need your suggestions on how to procede?

If your wife’s H-4 is valid until September 30, 2014 and her H-1B was filed as a change of status, you don’t need to file the H-4 at this time. Assuming her H-1B gets approved, it would kick in on October 1st. If for some reason the H-1B is denied, she could immediately apply for the H-4 extension at that time (as long as it is filed before her current H-4 expiration. You may want to consider upgrading the H-1B to premium processing to ensure that you get the result before her current H-4 expiration. That way you will know whether you need to take further action.
