H1B Extension Premium - No Receipt received

My Employer filed for my H1B extension under premium in the week of Oct 23rd for my visa which is expiring on Nov 29th. And when I contacted them for the receipt number, they responded saying USCIS has not sent them any receipt yet.And I just now saw the announcement on USCIS website which says there has been a delay in sending the receipt notices. My question is if I dont get any receipt# even after Nov 29th is my stay considered to be illegal? Please advise me what needs to be done in that case.

PS : The USCIS press release is dated May 23rd 2012 and now its Novemeber. Do we still have delays in getting receipt # due to the above fact?
