H1B Amendment Before Oct1st

Hi,

Hope things are going well. I have a H1 approved starting October 1st filed under change of status. My employer has offices in a different state.

  1. Can I file H1 location amendment before October 1st and move to different location. Employer, team, project all remain same
  2. How will it affect approved H1 , change of status process
  3. Is it better to wait till October 1st or is amendment not an issue

Well, I have not seen such applications in the past, cannot say. I would suggest you speak to your attorney and then handle it accordingly. In general, the better option is to have the H1B start on Oct 1st, work for few days in the main location that you filed and then apply for amendment, so that it works out well. Anyways, I suggest you speak to your attorney and take informed decision.
